San Jose State is expected to start Hawaii transfer Luke Weaver for this matchup in LA, which marks the team’s only contest against a preseason top-25 team. The Spartans had a similar schedule in 2025 and finished that campaign with a 3-9 record that included a 38-7 loss to No. 7 Texas in Week 2.
